| Walk the Walk: Lace Front Wigs for Feminine Mystique |

My mother and I never thought the sparkling Amelia Utsinger, my youthful partner in crime, could ever accessorize with medical wigs. Her trademark hair styles added so much to her femininity. But surprise surprise. Miss Prim n’ Proper remains celebrated because of her impeccable looks. Very few even care that she wears lace front wigs. You’d be surprised!
Back in the day as blossoming ladies in our home town of Scottsdale, we regularly stole the spotlights to every dance. A few years went by before her hair loss took its toll and she became nearly bald. I hinted about some lace front wigs. Oh well, balding was no big deal to her. Unfazed by medical hair loss, she proudly never let you forget about her attitude.
Appearing at our university’s rugby game, we ate nuts till her loverboy accidentally flung the little ball (or whatever they play with) at us. With quick reflexes she jumped up for it and her head scarf landed in a beer, revealing her naked head. Undisturbed, she walked over and delivered it to the game official. She’s that kind of girl.
Of course, who can be invincible at all times? The same summer she invited me over for a mid-day lemonade chat, the day she quietly said that she prefers to do without hair out of anger. She loved her old hair so much she can’t even spend money on women’s medical wigs, even if she wanted her hair back. At that moment the punk changed the subject and asked that I shouldn’t concern myself with it. She really needed help.
We got so worried about her. Shortly after, I asked her about going shopping with me for a new lace front wig. Finally we both ended up with the only logical action: we’ll think of wigs as fashion, and we love fashion. Wigs for the both of us, on me!
She and I were stunned by the fashionable styles. She never knew that women’s medical wigs could be very appealing for beautiful people and famous actors. These women’s wigs complimented her natural beauty. Personally, I put together a comprehensively new set of outfits to go with our wigs. Out of solidarity, if you haven’t heard. For my birthday she gave me a photo of us in our wigs and thanked me for giving her back her hair, and confessed it encourages a new attitude in her life. It’s touching to have helped my best friend rediscover the sassy, feminine girl I remember. I’m right there with her.
